Rob ditched me last night after saying he would pay for the Uber ride home. So I decided to spend some more time catching with my old friends Eric and Missy since they came from California and Nevada to be part of this reunion.
I finally made it home around noon and when my head hit my pillow it was lights out for several hours. When I finally got up I spent a good part of the day in the garden working on my watering construction project. I'm still trying to figure out if I'm doing the right thing with this style of watering. It's been a bit on the expensive side and I'm not sure it's exactly what Debbie wanted for her garden.
The asparagus are in full swing growing like crazy and the broccoli rabe plant has finally given all it could give (which was a lot). Tonight I will begin preparing some of the fish that I carefully brought back from Florida. I think it might be a good idea to make sushi and sashimi with the Yellow Jack since it was caught first 3 days ago. it has been on ice every step along the way so I have no doubt about the quality and freshness.
I made a video of the whole cleaning and prep process. Still need to edit that. Here are some still photos of some of my creative dishes. This fish was delicious! Very mild but also with a nice flavor.
The whole family really enjoyed it and we even had seconds. . . and thirds!
