The weather report was a little off for today but Dad and I had planned to go out fishing so we did. It was a long and arduous boat ride to the Shrewsbury Rocks from my house. Took about 2 hours - remember I was complaining a while back that I can drive to the beach and jump in the water in this same location in 10 minutes??? Well, I should have done that instead. It was really great being out in the open air with Dad but we didn't have much luck with the big bass like I had hoped. It was too chilly to jump in the water to try any spearfishing. We got a couple nice reads on the fishfinder but no bites.
When we decided to pack it in and head home we stopped to flyfish in the Shrewsbury River and right away we started catching a bunch of small bluefish. It was a good capper on the day. The sky was really cool looking with the cloud formations. I took some photos and a little video clip so Dad could do a little Stripping Guard promotion (www.strippingguards.com). I kept 4 bluefish to eat and we headed home. All in all it was a nice day to be outside and although we didn't get our BIG fish, I had already stashed enough fish away to last a while longer.
